Nuru Massage,

Nuru is the technical showpiece of the wall: a clear, slippery gel of Japanese origin, spread warm over two bodies until friction effectively stops existing. With nothing for skin to catch on, she can travel the whole of you in strokes that simply do not end, and the sensation, everyone reaches for the same word, is of being poured over. It is unlike every other session we offer, which is exactly why people book it.

Where it comes from
The gel came out of Japan, where extracts of nori seaweed, prized because they hold heat and water without ever soaking into skin, turned an ordinary bathhouse massage into a slide. The technique built around that material in the Kanagawa bathing houses has travelled the world with its essentials intact, and the Amsterdam version differs mainly in venue: what was once a tiled room in Kawasaki is now a well-protected hotel bed inside the canal ring.
The technique
Temperature discipline is the whole craft. The gel must sit a little above body heat from first pour to last stroke, so she warms it before starting and again mid-session, and she will have asked you to warm the room for the same reason. Application is by contact rather than by hand, she lowers herself onto the poured gel and lets movement distribute it, and pressure comes from her weight riding the glide. Because nothing grips, strokes can run head-to-heel in one unbroken line, and the artistry lies in linking them so no seam is ever felt.
In the room
Preparation is more visible here than elsewhere, and briefly fascinating: a protective sheet spread over the bed, the gel warmed and tested on her own wrist, the room brought up to real warmth before anything begins. Then the pouring, which raises an eyebrow the first time, and the discovery that a warm frictionless surface behaves like nothing your skin has met before. She works the full length of you with the full length of her, renewing and re-warming the gel as the hour runs. The finish is a shared shower, the gel dissolves in water and vanishes without residue.
Who it suits
The connoisseur's choice: best appreciated by guests who already know standard massage well and want the one format built on the opposite premise. Ask for it when you have a warm room, no schedule pressing, and curiosity to spend.
What it leaves
A strange and complete letting-go: with no friction to register, the body stops tracking individual touches and settles into pure warmth and motion. Guests describe surfacing from a nuru hour the way one surfaces from unusually deep sleep.

Will the gel wreck the hotel bed?
It never touches it. A waterproof sheet of hers goes down before the bottle opens, comes up with her when she leaves, and the gel itself is water-soluble and colourless, nothing to stain, nothing to explain.
Nuru or body to body, how do I choose?
Choose by texture. Body to body is warm oil and gentle drag, intimate in a familiar way; nuru removes the drag entirely and feels frankly otherworldly. If it is your first booking with us, we usually say start with the signature and save the gel for the return visit.
